!UPDATE!  In its place we will be having Jeane Barry (Bio) presenting:
Genetic Genealogy 101: Using DNA Testing in Your Genealogy Research

DNA testing for genealogy purposes is a powerful tool that is a mainstream part of the modern genealogist’s toolbox.  In this presentation, you’ll learn about the types of DNA tests, the various testing companies and what the data looks like when you get it back.  We will discuss Y-DNA and Mitochondrial DNA, as well as autosomal DNA testing.

You’ll hear about the joy of connecting with cousins in a joint effort to uncover common ancestors.

Even if you took a DNA test as a lark and don’t consider yourself a genealogist, the presentation should help you better understand your DNA results. If you’re very experienced with DNA testing, you should be able to pick up new tips and reinforce your training.
