Research Focus Group

A Focus Group for discussing general genealogical topics of mutual interest as decided upon by the members of the group in coordination with the leader.

Karen Yudnich indicated that she will be organizing this Focus (special interest)) Group for those interested in using various genealogical tools or are seeking additional information on a particular genealogy topic.

Currently, she is focusing on Ancestry.com and users who are wanting additional information on how to use Ancestry.

Initial meetings will be starting in July 2021:

  • Ancestry I – Topics to be covered include options for sharing your tree and working on your tree.  Learn everything you need to know about permissions on Ancestry and how to navigate around the site.
  • Ancestry II – This session will focus on adding your information on the Profile Page and Source/Citation information on the records. Plus, cover the difference is between Notes and Comments.
  • Ancestry III – Learn about Ancestry.com DNA ThruLines.  We will listen to a Crista Cowin video on ThruLines and then discuss our experiences with using them.

Those in the group will share ideas and discuss topics of interest in genealogy, etc.

Join us and we can all work together on our trees and leave with additional more knowledge.
