Meetings & Events
Since its inception, BGS has provided events and programs aimed at promoting awareness of genealogical research and maintaining and promoting genealogical standards. Our speakers and instructors come from all walks of life – some are local members, some are regional speakers, some are nationally well-known – to share their expertise and experiences.
Most programs and events are free and open to the public. When fees are required, the event details will specify the cost.
SIGs, Focus Groups, and Educational Opportunities
In additions to BGS regular meetings, special interest groups (SIGs), focus groups meeting are also listed in the calendar. And genealogy classes, workshops, seminars/webinars, and other educational activities are listed.
Events Calendar
This section of our website provides our event calendar with details of the event, their physical locations for in-person gatherings, virtual event instructions, etc. Related genealogical events taking place in the Denver-Metro area may also be listed in the calendar.
For addition information on any event, please check the event details.
Please consider making a donation…
With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, BGS has been providing its programs online, virtually. As a result, programs are available to participants no matter where they live.

If you are not a member of the society and find a program useful, a small donation can be made to help offset the costs of the speakers and Zoom subscription. A $5 contribution is suggested.

2nd Tuesday Genealogy Group
Online Virtual Meeting CO"Finding English Ancestors" by Ed Storey.
Program: There are many of us who have English ancestors. Fortunately, there are many types of documents available online and in a language we can almost understand. We will go through several of the types of documents and how to find them online. Many people are familiar with English census records or with FreeBMD. We will explore documents other than these to gain the maximum understanding of how our ancestors lived.
